This could be your first week with a smart home.
I’ll admit, I was a little late to the game when it came to jumping on the smart home bandwagon. But one week, I finally took the plunge and installed several “smart” devices in my home. Let me tell you, it has been quite an experience.
Day 1:
I started out by installing a smart light bulb in my living room. It was pretty easy to do and only took a few minutes. I have to say, I was impressed with how much difference it made in the room. The light is so much brighter and more natural-looking than my old incandescent bulbs. Plus, I can control it with my voice or my phone, which is pretty cool.
Day 2:
I decided to add a smart thermostat to the mix. Again, the installation was pretty straightforward. And I have to say, I love being able to adjust the temperature without having to get up off the couch. The only downside is that now my wife and I are constantly fighting over who gets to control the temperature. But I think we’ll figure it out eventually.
Day 3:
Today, I added a smart doorbell to my front door. This one was a little more tricky to install, but once it was up and running it worked like a charm. I love that I can see who’s at the door without having to open it first. And when I’m not home, I can see if someone is trying to break in (although luckily that hasn’t happened yet).
Day 4:
The next step was buying a robot vacuum cleaner and honestly, this was probably one of the best decisions ever! It just gives you so much more time when you have a little small helper doing most of the cleaning for you. I can’t imagine my life without it anymore!
Day 5:
Final addition of the week was getting a robotic lawn mower to keep the yard nice and tidy. Sure, it took some time to make the first setup but after it’s done, it’s basically care-free forever! What amazed me the most was how quietly the robot mower does it’s job. No more loud engine noises, just a relaxing hum in the background.
Conclusion:
Overall, I’m really happy with my new smart home setup. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but it’s been worth it. If you’re thinking about making your home smarter, just go for it! You might be surprised at how much you like it.
All the Best!
